AhlulBayt News Agency: Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem has warned Israel and its allies that the resistance will not surrender to any form of threat or pressure.
Speaking at the ninth martyrdom anniversary of senior Hezbollah commander Sayyed Mustafa Badreddin on Monday, Sheikh Qassem asserted that Israel launched war on Lebanon in an attempt to dismantle the resistance. He vowed that this objective would not be achieved through pressure on the Lebanese government or violations of the ceasefire agreement.
He reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to the ceasefire with Israel, despite Tel Aviv having violated the agreement more than 3,000 times.
Israel suffered significant losses during nearly 14 months of conflict and failed to meet its objectives in its offensive against Lebanon. Consequently, it was compelled to accept a ceasefire with Hezbollah, which took effect on November 27.
However, since the agreement’s inception, Israeli forces have continued launching attacks on Lebanon, including airstrikes across various regions. Lebanon has condemned Israel’s ongoing military presence, viewing it as a violation of the ceasefire and its withdrawal timeline. Lebanese officials have pledged to take "all necessary measures" to remove occupying forces from the country.
Sheikh Qassem also condemned Israel’s blockade on Gaza, accusing the US of backing the regime’s crimes against Palestinians.
“The war on Gaza is a US-Israeli genocidal scheme aimed at erasing Palestine,” he said.
He praised the Palestinian people for their resilience and stated that their steadfastness is the foundation for reclaiming their land.
Sheikh Qassem hailed the resistance, saying they have remained strong and have not laid down their arms. He congratulated Gaza’s people and resistance fighters for securing an agreement unchanged from its original terms in May 2024, emphasizing that Israel failed to impose its own conditions.
He noted Israel’s growing global isolation, saying that “Israel is now an international pariah” and citing the International Criminal Court’s condemnation as proof of the Palestinian resistance’s impact.
Sheikh Qassem praised those who have stood with Gaza and Palestine, particularly Iran and its leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
“History will record the sacrifices made in Gaza and the support given by the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Imam Khamenei, who has consistently backed the Palestinian people and provided military, moral, material, and political assistance,” he said.
He also commended the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), its external branch Al-Quds, and the late General Hajj Qassem Soleimani for their efforts.
Additionally, Sheikh Qassem congratulated Yemen on what he described as a victory against the US, saying Yemen’s leadership successfully pressured Washington to halt its aggression against the country.
