Iran’s Noor Quranic Convoy set to hold 220 recitation gatherings during Hajj

Iran sends a dedicated Quranic delegation alongside its pilgrims during Hajj to enrich their religious experience. The Noor Quranic Convoy holds recitation gatherings, promoting unity and reflection. This year, the convoy includes a younger generation of Quran reciters, ensuring a fresh and impactful engagement.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Noor (Light) Quranic Convoy is preparing to hold over 220 Quranic events during the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca and Medina.

Mohammad-Javad Kashefi, an international Quran reciter and the convoy’s official leader, stated that the team consists of 20 members, including 14 qaris, one Quran memorizer, and a five-member Tawasheeh group.

“These members have been divided into different groups and will travel in stages,” he explained. “Many of the qaris are recognized both nationally and internationally. While benefiting from their experience, this year’s group is notably youthful, with an average age of 32.”

Kashefi emphasized that the delegation is well-prepared to deliver high-quality performances throughout the pilgrimage. “We hope the recitations presented by this group will have a strong spiritual impact on the audience,” he said.

Iran organizes Quran-related programs during Hajj to enrich the religious experience of its pilgrims. Millions of Muslims from across the globe travel to Mecca each year, and Iran regularly sends Quran activists as part of its pilgrimage initiatives.

Kashefi mentioned that the Quranic sessions will take place in Mecca and Medina, with around 220 gatherings planned. “Most sessions are pre-scheduled, though approximately 30 percent of the programs will be adjusted based on circumstances and finalized on the day of execution,” he noted.

Regarding the convoy’s response to issues in the Muslim world, particularly Gaza and Palestine, Kashefi stated: “We will do our best to play a meaningful role. Before and after each recitation, we will present verses that call on Muslims to stand against oppression and defend the rights of the oppressed.”

“The Quran is the shared language of all Muslims,” he added, “and we must use its teachings to raise awareness about what is happening in Gaza and Palestine.”
