Imam Khomeini, as the reviver of pure Islam, laid the foundation for the transformation of the Islamic world, the secretary general of Lebanon’s Hezbollah said.
Sheikh Naim Qassem made the remark in an address via video link to a conference held in Qom, Iran, on Thursday under the title of “Islamic Seminary of Qom, Islamic Revolution and Resistance”.
He said Imam Khomeini’s movement inspired the resistance in Lebanon after the occupation of the country.
The Lebanese resistance, inspired by the teachings of pure Islam, the school of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) and the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini, has been the standing against the aggressions of the Israeli regime, he stated.
Sheikh Qassem praised the martyrs of Hezbollah, including Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine, who were martyred in Israeli attacks last year, and said, “We have never deviated from this path (of resistance), and we have always remained steadfast on the path of the WIlayat Faqih and the line of Imam Khomeini and Imam Khamenei.
The Lebanese people stood with faith, integrity and dignity against the Zionist aggression and brought resistance, honor and freedom to the Islamic Ummah, he said.
The senior cleric went on to say, “We believe in God’s promise and the resistance will continue until the final victory.”
