AhlulBayt News Agency: Yemen’s missile force has struck Israel’s busiest and most important airport, Ben Gurion, for the second time in less than a week.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, announced on Tuesday that the operation was carried out using a hypersonic ballistic missile. "The missile successfully hit its target," he stated.
Similar to the previous strike on Friday, which also used a projectile of the same type, the latest attack caused widespread panic. Millions of settlers fled to shelters as missile sirens blared throughout the occupied Palestinian territories.
The attack also led to a temporary suspension of airport operations for nearly an hour. Ben Gurion Airport, located near Tel Aviv, serves as Israel’s primary gateway.
Saree emphasized that the operation was a direct response to Israel’s ongoing military actions against Palestinians in Gaza. He stated that Yemen’s forces began launching such strikes after Israel intensified its war on Gaza, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 52,900 Palestinians, mostly women and children.
Yemen’s missile force has targeted Ben Gurion Airport on multiple occasions, with this being the latest in a series of strikes. In addition to these attacks, Yemeni forces have imposed a naval blockade on Israeli ships transporting commodities, including military supplies, to the occupied territories.
Earlier this month, Yemen also announced an aerial blockade on Israel, leading several international airlines to suspend flights to the region.
Saree reaffirmed that the flight ban on Ben Gurion Airport remains in effect. He urged airline companies that have not yet suspended their flights to follow the example of those that have already ceased operations in Israeli airports.
Yemen’s Armed Forces declared that their strikes would continue until Israel halts its military campaign in Gaza and lifts the siege that has been in place since 2007 but has intensified in recent months.
Additionally, Yemeni servicemen called on the Muslim world to stand against Israel and support the Palestinian cause for liberation from occupation and aggression.
