Iran condemns Israel’s deadly attacks on Gaza refugee camps

Israel’s bombardment of Gaza continues amid severe humanitarian crises, causing widespread starvation and medical shortages. Iran has called for international accountability and intervention to halt the attacks. Efforts to prosecute Israeli officials for war crimes and genocide are underway in global courts.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran has strongly condemned Israel’s attacks on Palestinian refugee camps in Gaza, which have left dozens of innocent civilians, including infants, dead and injured.

Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, described Israel’s indiscriminate strikes as a blatant violation of international law. He urged the United Nations and its member states to intervene and ensure Israel’s compliance with humanitarian law.

Baghaei emphasized the need to expedite the prosecution of cases filed against Israeli officials at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court for war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity.

He also called on the international community and regional countries to take decisive action to halt Israel’s attacks on Palestinians and facilitate the delivery of food and medicine to Gaza.

Baghaei further stated that global authorities must hold Israel’s corrupt officials accountable, withdraw occupying forces from Gaza, and confront Israeli aggression against regional nations such as Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.

Israel’s military campaign in Gaza began on October 7, 2023, following Hamas’ Al-Aqsa Flood operation, launched in retaliation for Israel’s intensified atrocities against Palestinians.

Despite failing to achieve its declared objectives, Israel agreed to a ceasefire with Hamas on January 19. However, two months later, it unilaterally broke the truce and resumed its relentless bombing.

The crisis worsened when Israel tightened its blockade, severely restricting food and medical supplies to Gaza’s 2.3 million residents.

Humanitarian groups have warned of extreme shortages, with charity kitchens—the last source of food for many—shutting down due to lack of supplies, threatening further closures.

Since March, the blockade has prevented life-saving medical aid from reaching Gaza, plunging its healthcare system into total collapse.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll since October 2023 has reached 52,862, most of them women and children.
