AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday that following an attack on the Al-Habbaniyah base in Al-Anbar Province in the west of the country, seven members of the Iraqi army forces were martyred and thirteen others were wounded.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, the ministry stated in a statement that the military hospital at the Al-Habbaniyah base and the base's technical services section were targeted in an airstrike, and subsequently came under fire from air artillery, an attack that resulted in the martyrdom and wounding of a number of Iraqi army forces while they were performing their national and humanitarian duties.
The Iraqi Ministry of Defense condemned the attack, describing it as a blatant and dangerous violation of all international laws and norms that prohibit targeting medical centers and their personnel.
The ministry affirmed that it reserves its full right to take all necessary measures to respond to this aggression within legal frameworks.
No country has claimed responsibility for this attack so far, an attack that occurred just hours after the Iraqi National Security Council approved the right to respond to any military aggression against the country’s security and military facilities and to pursue those responsible.
