Amal Movement Reacts to Revocation of Iran’s Ambassador Credentials in Lebanon: We Will Not Permit Such an Action

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Amal Movement in Lebanon issued a statement criticizing the decision to revoke the credentials of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran and called upon the country's officials to immediately reverse this action to prevent a political crisis.

The Amal Movement, through a statement, urged Lebanon's official officials to reverse the decision to revoke the credentials of the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in order to spare the country from entering a political and national crisis.

The statement said that it would have been more appropriate for Lebanese officials, instead of such an action, to declare a diplomatic state of emergency at the global level to counter the recent statements of the Israeli regime's Minister of War, statements in which he spoke of destroying all the bridges over the Litany River, as well as the intention to occupy 10 percent of Lebanese territory and turn the areas south of this river into a buffer zone.

The Amal Movement described this action as outside national norms and suspicious in terms of its timing and context, emphasizing that Lebanese officials, instead of condemning Israel's attacks on Lebanon, which have led to the widespread displacement of citizens, have targeted a diplomatic path by setting a deadline for the Iranian ambassador's departure. This hasty and irresponsible action has been welcomed and praised by senior Israeli officials, who have even called for further similar measures.

The Amal Movement, also referring to the current critical circumstances, emphasized that at such a juncture, everyone, especially officials, must strive to strengthen national unity and solidarity to confront Israeli aggressions. The movement once again called for the immediate reversal of this decision and warned that it would not, under any circumstances, permit such an action to pass, considering retreat from error to be a national virtue.

In conclusion, the Amal Movement, while reiterating its opposition to any direct negotiation with the Zionist regime, affirmed that the Mechanism Committee remains the executive framework for halting attacks and fully implementing the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, an agreement to which, according to the movement, the Zionist regime has not adhered to any of its provisions.
