AhlulBayt News Agency: Ayatollah Seyyed Yassin Mousavi, the Friday prayer imam of Baghdad and a prominent scholar of the Najaf Ashraf Seminary, in his Friday prayer sermons this week, pointed out the political developments in the region, describing the so-called “New Middle East” project as a failure and considered the upcoming Iraqi elections a decisive moment.
The Iraqi scholar further stated that the region is witnessing important developments, and added,” These developments are the result of the failure of the Zionist conspiracy called the New Middle East project, which the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, was pursuing. According to him, the consequences of this failure have directly affected the situation in Iraq.
Referring to the failure of this project against the resistance forces in Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Iraq and Syria, Ayatollah Mousavi added,” The Zionists have failed to achieve their goals of imposing new political and security realities.”
He also revealed the negotiations between the Syrian interim government and the Zionist regime mediated by Azerbaijan and Turkey, and considered these talks to be part of Israel's projects of division and influence in the border areas of Syria.
In another part of his speech, Baghdad Friday Imam pointed out the developments in Gaza and said,” What is going on in Gaza is an aimless and destructive war whose main goal is to destroy the Palestinian people and force submission to the hegemonic plans of the West.”
He concluded by saying that Western and Zionist media are trying to limit the regional crisis to Netanyahu personally, while the root of the problems is the policies of the United States in destabilizing the region.
