Baghdad Friday Prayer Imam praises Yemen’s role in Islamic Resistance

Yemen has played a significant role in the Islamic resistance movement, with its forces actively engaging in regional conflicts. The recent ceasefire agreement between Yemen and the US does not impact Yemen’s stance against Israel.

AhlulBayt News Agency – The Friday prayer leader of Baghdad, Ayatollah Sayed Yaseen al-Mousawi, described Yemen as the voice of Imam Ali (AS) and a pillar of Islamic resistance.

Speaking during his Friday sermon in the Iraqi capital, he emphasized that the unwavering commitment of Yemenis, rooted in their devotion to Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), has solidified Yemen’s role in the resistance axis.

Ayatollah al-Mousawi referenced remarks by former US President Donald Trump regarding a halt to attacks on Yemen, highlighting what he described as the defeat of the US in the face of Yemeni resilience.

On Tuesday, Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi announced a ceasefire agreement between Yemen and the US, under which neither side would target the other, including American vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The US had been carrying out near-daily airstrikes in Yemen for months, resulting in significant casualties. The campaign aimed to halt Yemeni military operations against Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea.

In response, Yemeni forces launched counterattacks on American warships and other vessels in the region, reportedly downing at least two American F-18 jets.

The Ansarullah movement clarified that the ceasefire with the US does not affect Yemen’s operations against Israel, which will continue in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

Elsewhere in his sermon, Ayatollah al-Mousawi addressed the situation in Lebanon, stating that attempts to weaken Hezbollah’s role in the country have failed. He reaffirmed that Hezbollah remains the dominant force in Lebanon.

He also praised the resistance of the people of Gaza against Israeli aggression, asserting that the battle will continue until the ultimate victory of Islam.
