Tunisian diplomat hails Yemen’s military technology as rivaling Western advancements

Yemen’s missile capabilities have advanced significantly in recent years, allowing its forces to challenge high-tech Western defense systems. The THAAD system, designed to intercept ballistic missiles, has reportedly failed against Yemeni strikes multiple times. This development raises questions about regional security and military balance in ongoing conflicts.

Ahlulbayt News Agency: Former Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem praised Yemen’s missile capabilities, stating that Yemeni technology has successfully penetrated Israeli defense systems, including the American THAAD system. He described this as a new era where Yemeni advancements rival Western military technology.

In a post on X (Twitter), Abdessalem remarked, “It seems that Yemeni technology has triumphed over American technology. From now on, ‘Made in Yemen’ will stand alongside ‘Made in China’ as a symbol of superiority on land and in the skies.”

He also shared a screenshot from Al Jazeera Palestine, citing Israel’s Channel 14, which reported that the THAAD system failed for the second time in a week to intercept a missile launched from Yemen.

On Friday, Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Sarie confirmed that a hypersonic ballistic missile had successfully struck Ben Gurion Airport (Lod Airport). This marks the second time Sanaa forces have bypassed Israeli air defense systems, disrupting flights for days.
