AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Yemeni official has warned of possible sabotage by the United States just days after an Omani-mediated ceasefire agreement was reached between the two sides. Ali al-Dailami, a member of the Political Bureau of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, emphasized the need for vigilance, stating that while Yemen remains militarily prepared, Washington’s actions remain unpredictable.
The ceasefire was agreed upon on Wednesday, following an escalation of US attacks against Yemen aimed at pressuring Sana’a to halt its strikes on Israel, Washington’s key regional ally. Despite this agreement, al-Dailami expressed confidence in Yemen’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its defense capabilities, particularly as it lacks sophisticated systems such as the American THAAD or Israel’s Iron Dome, developed with significant US support. However, he stressed Yemen’s steady progress in advancing its own defense mechanisms to counter any potential violation of the agreement.
His remarks echoed concerns raised by Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Ansarullah, who had earlier warned of possible US attempts to escalate hostilities. Al-Dailami affirmed that any renewed offensive by foreign powers would be met with strong resistance, pointing to the historical involvement of the US, the UK, and Israel in conflicts against Yemen. He recalled Washington’s role in supporting the Saudi-led coalition during the 2015 war, providing extensive military and intelligence assistance.
