AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli occupation army carried out a deadly attack on Sunday morning in southern Gaza, killing at least 30 aid seekers and injuring 120 others near a US-run aid distribution site west of Rafah.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO), the death toll from Israeli attacks on aid seekers at US aid distribution sites has risen to 39 in less than a week.
More than 220 others have been injured since the establishment of these distribution sites in southern Gaza.
The number of casualties is expected to rise as Israeli forces continue to open fire and bomb aid seekers near distribution points.
GMO stated that the Israeli army has turned aid distribution sites from humanitarian relief points into traps for mass killings, describing the situation as a systematic use of aid as a weapon of war to pressure starving civilians.
GMO urged the UN and its Security Council to fulfill their legal responsibilities toward Gaza and work toward reopening border crossings for unrestricted aid entry.
Additionally, GMO called for the urgent formation of an independent international committee to investigate and document Israel’s attacks on aid seekers.
