Pres. Pezeshkian says Leader’s key message was ‘national unity’ during 7-hour meeting

President Masoud Pezeshkian says that maintaining national unity and cohesion in the face of enmities and external pressure was the most important message delivered by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei during a recent seven-hour meeting.

AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian says that maintaining national unity and cohesion in the face of enmities and external pressure was the most important message delivered by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei during a recent seven-hour meeting.

Pezeshkian said on Monday that the recent meeting covered the country’s main domestic and foreign policy challenges, including people’s livelihoods, employment and housing, as well as problems arising from sanctions.

“The most important recommendation of the Supreme Leader was to preserve unity and cohesion,” Pezeshkian said on the sidelines of a meeting with political party leaders and politicians at the Interior Ministry.

Pezeshkian said the Leader was in full health during the meeting, adding that he had raised all of his concerns and problems and that the Leader had listened to him and offered guidance.

“The meeting with the Leader was very good. I was with him for about seven hours and we were able to discuss all the country’s current issues,” Pezeshkian said.

He said discussions also focused on how the government and people had withstood pressures, as well as the importance of unity in dealing with the country’s challenges.

Pezeshkian cited Ayatollah Khamenei as saying that Iran’s adversaries were seeking to create divisions inside the country, making national cohesion particularly important.

The official website of the Leader said on Sunday that Pezeshkian had met and held talks with Ayatollah Khamenei as he entered the third year of his presidency.
