Saudi Arabia to Unveil New Hajj Operational Plan Focused on AI and Digital Services

AhlulBayt News Agency: Saudi Arabia is set to announce a comprehensive operational plan for the upcoming Hajj season, with the official presentation scheduled for Thursday. The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina will introduce what is described as the most extensive enrichment-focused strategy since new regulatory frameworks were introduced.

This year’s plan prioritizes pilgrim-centered services, aiming to enhance the experience for millions of worshippers expected during Hajj. It leverages artificial intelligence, smart technologies, and digital platforms to ensure ease, clarity, and comfort for pilgrims.

A key component of the operational blueprint is the deployment of the largest suite of smart digital services in Hajj history, which includes:

  • "Manarah 2" AI Robot – A multilingual second-generation AI assistant designed to serve and guide pilgrims.
  • Multilingual Smart Screens – Interactive screens positioned at key locations to provide real-time information and assistance.
  • Digital Quran Platform – A global service enabling Quran recitation and learning for pilgrims worldwide.
  • Surat Al Fatiha App – A multilingual application aimed at deepening engagement with one of the Quran’s most recited chapters.
  • Specialized Initiatives – Programs offering religious, intellectual, and educational support tailored to the diverse backgrounds of Hajj participants.

Abdulrahman Al Sudais, Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, emphasized that the plan is built on principles of compassion, tranquility, and service, ensuring that pilgrims experience Hajj in accordance with prophetic teachings and the highest standards of care.
