Indonesia finalizes Hajj preparations, securing 300 hotels for pilgrims

Indonesia has completed preparations for the 2025 Hajj season, securing 300 hotels across Mecca and Medina for over 200,000 pilgrims. Officials confirmed full readiness, with accommodations near key religious sites and shuttle services in place to facilitate pilgrim movement. The country continues to lead in global Hajj participation.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Indonesian government has completed preparations for accommodating over 200,000 regular Hajj pilgrims during the 2025 pilgrimage season, securing 300 hotels across Mecca and Medina.

Muchlis M. Hanafi, Director of Overseas Hajj Services at the Hajj Organizing Agency (BPH), announced that 205 hotels have been arranged in Mecca and 95 in Medina, ensuring sufficient lodging for 203,320 pilgrims. Speaking during a virtual Hajj briefing from Jakarta on Sunday, he emphasized that all accommodations in Mecca are within a 4.5-kilometer radius of the Al-Haram Mosque, with shuttle buses organized to facilitate transportation.

In Medina, hotels are concentrated in the Markaziyah district, close to the Prophet’s Mosque. Hanafi encouraged pilgrims to maximize their time in prayer and remembrance at the mosque rather than rushing back to their lodgings, helping to reduce congestion at hotel entrances.

To enhance safety and convenience, he advised pilgrims to carry identification cards displaying their names and hotel numbers whenever they leave their accommodations.

Hanafi confirmed that all preparations for the Hajj pilgrimage are now fully complete. “As of today, the readiness of all services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims has reached 100 percent,” he stated.

The comprehensive services include arrangements for accommodation, transportation, meals, general logistics, and essential support during the peak days of the pilgrimage.

Indonesia, home to the world’s largest Muslim population, sends the highest number of pilgrims annually, making logistical planning a significant national effort.
