Iran President stresses national unity, warns against divisive actions

President Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the critical importance of national unity, asserting that his administration will take no actions that could be exploited by adversaries.

AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian underscored the critical importance of national unity, asserting that his administration will take no actions that could be exploited by adversaries.

Speaking at the third official session of the sixth term of the Assembly of Experts in Qom on Monday, President Pezeshkian highlighted his commitment to fostering national consensus since the outset of his presidential campaign. He noted that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has identified unity and cohesion as essential first steps.

The President referenced the Supreme Leader's remarks during a meeting with officials involved in the arrangement of the Hajj pilgrimage, where he emphasized that Muslims from around the world unite at the Kaaba, demonstrating their solidarity.

Pezeshkian stated that the Supreme Leader’s perspective is the final authority on all matters, and his administration strives to align its decisions and actions with the Leader's views.

The president stressed the necessity of maintaining social cohesion, warning that officials must avoid any decisions or actions that could jeopardize national unity, which adversaries actively seek to undermine. He specifically mentioned the United States, the Zionist regime, and certain intelligence agencies that capitalize on domestic divisions in Iran.

Addressing the issue of hijab observance, Pezeshkian cautioned that officials should refrain from decisions that could weaken the Islamic Revolution. He affirmed that while the government will not ignore issues of modesty, it will approach them with caution to prevent exploitation by enemies.

The president also asserted that societal reforms cannot be achieved through coercion, emphasizing that his administration will adopt prudent measures to address dress codes issues without compromising national unity.

Furthermore, Pezeshkian outlined his administration's plans to tackle various challenges, including power generation, with a goal of producing 30,000 megawatts of solar energy.

He affirmed the administration's commitment to justice in education, healthcare, and livelihoods as its top priorities.

In terms of foreign policy, he said, the administration aims to strengthen relationships with neighboring countries, including Iraq, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and others.
