Iran's powerful diplomacy focuses on securing regional stability: Velayati

Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs, says Iran's powerful diplomacy is aimed at safeguarding national authority and securing regional peace and stability.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs, says Iran's powerful diplomacy is aimed at safeguarding national authority and securing regional peace and stability.

In a message posted on his X account on Saturday, Velayati made the remarks in reference to Iran's diplomatic endeavor by agreeing to the Pakistan-mediated ceasefire in the US-Israeli war and negotiations with Washington in Islamabad.

Today's powerful diplomacy is a testament to protecting regional stability in the light of Iran's national power, he wrote, adding that the presence of a delegation under Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in the Islamabad negotiations is the continuation of the the same will to affirm the people's rights.

He also reacted to the Lebanese prime minister's stance on the Israeli bloodshed in the Arab country, stating that Nawaf Salam should know that ignoring the unique role of Hezbollah's resistance and heroism will expose Lebanon to irreplaceable security risks.

Lebanon's stability is only achievable through the synergy of its government and resistance against the occupying Israeli regime, he emphasized.

Three days after a temporary ceasefire in the US-Israeli imposed war, the Iranian negotiating team, led by Ghalibaf, arrived to initiate talks with the US side in Islamabad on a flight "Minab 168", highlighting the massacre of schoolchildren in an American-Zionist bombing on the first day of their unprovoked aggression against Iran.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Governor of the Central Bank Abdolnaser Hemmati, and Secretary of the Defense Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian are part of the Iranian delegation in Pakistan.

On the US side, Vice President J. D. Vance is present in Islamabad alongside negotiators Steve Witkoff, America's special envoy to West Asia, and Jared Kushner, an advisor and son-in-law of President Donald Trump.
