AhlulBayt News Agency: The Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim Unity Assembly has strongly criticized a renewed wave of Iranophobia and media-driven disinformation, stressing that the Islamic Revolution of Iran continues to stand as the final and most resilient bastion of resistance for oppressed nations across the globe.
Speaking at a gathering of scholars and political activists, Hojatoleslam Syed Zafar Hassan Naqvi said decades-long attempts by colonial and hegemonic powers to undermine or collapse the Islamic Republic have repeatedly failed and will continue to do so.
“Since the very first days following the victory of the Islamic Revolution, enemies of Islam and independence have been predicting its downfall,” he stated. “Yet history has shown that those who dreamed of the Revolution’s collapse have faced nothing but humiliation and defeat.”
He recalled that on February 11, 1979, the vision of Imam Khomeini (RA) materialized before the eyes of the world, despite overwhelming opposition from global powers. “From that day onward, colonial forces and their regional allies have continuously forecast the end of the Revolution, but every such prediction has proven false,” he added.
Media Disinformation and Psychological Warfare
Referring to current regional and international developments, Naqvi warned of a coordinated psychological and media campaign targeting Iran. He said affiliated governments and “mercenary media outlets” are once again spreading rumors and fabricated reports aimed at destabilizing public opinion.
“To the extent that absurd and baseless claims — such as the alleged departure of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution from the country — are being presented as credible news,” he noted. “Such disinformation reflects nothing but the desperation, confusion, and intellectual bankruptcy of the enemies of the Revolution.”
According to Naqvi, these actions amount to blind hostility that ultimately harms those who propagate it. “They are destroying their own credibility and future through lies and distortion,” he said.
Iran as the Core of Anti-Colonial Resistance
The Pakistani cleric emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains the last and strongest frontline state resisting global colonialism and Zionist domination.
“If, God forbid, this bastion is weakened, the entire Islamic world will be left defenseless against Zionist aggression and imperial domination,” he warned. “It is therefore natural that media outlets funded and politically backed by the United States and the Zionist regime amplify conspiracies that serve those interests.”
Leadership of the Revolution and Global Conscience
Highlighting the role of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Naqvi said Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei represents far more than a national leader.
“Today, the Leader of the Revolution is a symbol of courage, steadfastness, and hope for oppressed people worldwide,” he said. “At a time when unprecedented crimes are being committed in Palestine, Gaza, and across resistance fronts, the so-called international conscience remains silent.”
He sharply criticized Muslim rulers and compliant media outlets for deliberately ignoring the reality of Israeli crimes. “This silence is not accidental; it is a calculated betrayal of justice and humanity,” he asserted.
Attempts to Undermine the Axis of Resistance
Naqvi also addressed developments in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, stating that organized and well-funded efforts are underway to weaken resistance movements across the region.
“Unfortunately, some circles celebrate these developments and claim that Iran and the axis of resistance are weakening,” he said. “The reality, however, is entirely the opposite. Resistance has become deeper, more experienced, and more rooted in popular support.”
US Hegemony and Global Double Standards
Referring to blatant US interventions around the world, including in Venezuela, Naqvi described Washington’s actions as clear manifestations of coercion, bullying, and global hegemony.
“Despite the clarity of these violations, we rarely see a serious, independent, or courageous response from the international community,” he said, pointing to entrenched double standards in global politics.
Imam Khomeini’s Message Lives On
Concluding his remarks, the Secretary General said that as the Islamic Revolution enters its 48th year, it continues to carry the enduring message of Imam Khomeini (RA) to oppressed peoples everywhere.
“This Revolution has kept alive the principles of hope, resistance, dignity, and perseverance,” he said. “History will testify that in an era when many surrendered to oppressive powers, a nation — guided by visionary leadership — stood firm and challenged the global system of domination with courage and faith.”
