Large crowds of believers commemorated the eve of the eleventh of Muharram at the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), to embody what happened to the family of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) after the events of Ashura.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Large crowds of believers commemorated the eve of the eleventh of Muharram at the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them), to embody what happened to the family of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) after the events of Ashura.

The believers in Karbala have been accustomed to performing these rituals on the night of the tenth of Muharram, at the two holy shrines, known as the "Night of Loneliness," to remember through painful feelings the tragedy of the captives from the family of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) with mourning ceremonies.

The mourners head towards the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) to offer their condolences, then continue their journey in the area between the two holy shrines until they reach the shrine of the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him).

These ceremonies include the recitation of elegies and lamentations for al-Hussayn, in addition to lighting candles by the mourners in the area between the two holy shrines, and near the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine continues to implement its mourning and service program, which it has prepared through its departments and formations, to commemorate this sad anniversary.
