AhlulBayt News Agency: Hujjat al-Islam Syed Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Secretary General of the Pakistan Muslim Unity Council, described Muharram as a month of love, peace, and unity during a mourning session at Husayniyya Razaviyya. He called on all segments of society to use this sacred period to promote brotherhood, mutual respect, and human values.

“Muharram is not only a time of mourning, but also a reminder of Imam Hussain’s (PBUH) universal message — a call to unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence,” he said, addressing scholars, preachers, and community members.

He emphasized that the movement of Imam Hussain (PBUH) carries profound moral and spiritual lessons for all humanity, highlighting the values of sacrifice, justice, and the revival of divine principles.

Calling for calm and unity amid growing challenges, Hujjat al-Islam Naqvi urged religious leaders to use their pulpits to combat hatred and spread a culture of compassion and empathy throughout society.

In his remarks to public officials, he stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and security of Muharram gatherings. He also called for immediate improvements to essential municipal services, including clean water, electricity, sanitation, and public health infrastructure during this sensitive period.

He further urged the careful oversight of temporary prayer stations and charity centers operating along the routes of mourning processions to prevent misuse or disruptions by malicious actors.

“Preserving the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere of Muharram is a shared responsibility,” he concluded.
