AhlulBayt News Agency: The issue of missing persons has now gone beyond national borders and reached the international level, which is extremely concerning. On this matter, the United Nations and other international organizations must go beyond issuing statements, resolutions, or observing special days—they need to take concrete action.
Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, the head of the Shia Ulema Council Pakistan, said that the United Nations has not succeeded in its mission of providing basic human rights across the world. The situations in Kashmir and Palestine are clear evidence of this failure.
He said that in every era, new methods have been used to enslave human beings. In today's age, instead of individuals, entire nations and countries have been made slaves. Humanity today is trapped in political, economic, social, and cultural slavery. Among these, cultural slavery is the most dangerous, as it attacks human consciousness and even takes away the right to think and live freely.
Allama Sajid Ali Naqvi stated that enforced disappearances are among the most serious violations of human rights, but these issues cannot be solved merely by observing international days.
On the "International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition," he said that although humans are born free, in every era they have faced new forms of slavery. In the present time, slavery has shifted from individuals to entire nations and communities, which is far more severe.
On the "International Day of Solidarity with Victims of Enforced Disappearances," he said that enforced disappearance is a grave insult to human dignity and a clear violation of constitutional, legal, and international human rights charters.
He emphasized that the freedom given to human beings by their Creator cannot be taken away by any other human. Now that this issue has reached the global level, the United Nations and other international bodies must take serious and effective steps to stop this form of dehumanization and protect the dignity of humanity.
