AhlulBayt News Agency: An Iranian Hajj official announced the executive readiness to send 30,000 pilgrims to the Land of Revelation this year, noting that the dispatch is planned to be carried out as a combined land-air package.
Akbar Rezaei, the Hajj and Umrah deputy of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, referred to the various plans for sending Iranian pilgrims to Hajj 2026 and said, “We are ready to send Iranian pilgrims to the Land of Revelation based on the agreements made and the memorandum of understanding signed with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, as well as the contracts concluded, in accordance with the existing conditions and after the approval of the authorities in our country.”
He pointed out that the planning has changed in accordance with the current conditions and the structure of the caravans has been redefined compared to before.
Referring to the planning of the expeditions as a combined land-air package, Rezaei said that according to the predictions made with the relevant stakeholders in Iraq and Saudi Arabia, the pilgrims will be sent by land and through Iraq to the Arar border (the border between Iraq and Saudi Arabia) and then from there they will fly to the city of Medina. “On the return journey, the pilgrims will return from Jeddah airport to the Arar border and from there by land and from the Iraqi border to the country.”
He stated that the country’s railway capacity and buses will be used for the expedition.
He added that along the route, necessary medical services will be provided in cooperation with the Hajj and Pilgrimage Medical Center.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
