Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami Calls for Suspension of Umrah and Financial Support for Resistance Front

Leader of Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami, urged Muslims to temporarily cancel their Umrah pilgrimages and redirect the associated expenses toward supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran, citing concerns over the financial benefits flowing to Saudi Arabia and their eventual use in backing the Zionist regime.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Maulana Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, head of Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami, called on Muslims to temporarily suspend their Umrah pilgrimages and instead channel the funds toward supporting the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In his statement, he emphasized that revenues generated from Umrah pilgrimages significantly bolster Saudi Arabia’s economy, adding that these financial resources are ultimately used to support the Israeli regime. “The money that flows through Umrah is not just benefiting a single nation, it is being funneled into sustaining policies that undermine Muslim unity and justice,” he said.

The remarks come amid growing public discourse in several Muslim-majority countries, where regional developments have prompted a wide range of public positions, both supportive and critical, on the political and economic dynamics shaping the Muslim world.
