One killed, eight wounded as Israel hits Lebanon

Fresh Israeli airstrikes have killed at least one person and injured several others in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health says, the latest violation of the ceasefire between the Arab country and the Tel Aviv regime.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Fresh Israeli airstrikes have killed at least one person and injured several others in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health says, the latest violation of the ceasefire between the Arab country and the Tel Aviv regime.

The Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the ministry announced in a statement that an Israeli air raid struck a vehicle on Monday in the Ansariyah area of the Sidon district. One person lost his life and four others were injured in the attack.

Israeli military aircraft also carried out an assault in the al-Qlailah area of the Tyre district. Four people were wounded as a result.

The Israeli army asserted in a statement that it killed a member of the Hezbollah resistance movement in the attack on Ansariyeh. It further claimed that he was involved in efforts to reestablish military infrastructure for the group.

Separately, the Arabic-language spokesperson of the Israeli military alleged it killed a member of Hezbollah’s air defense unit during an airstrike in southern Lebanon on Monday.

Avichay Adraee claimed in a post on the social media platform X that the strike in Harouf killed Ali al-Hadi Mustafa al-Haqqani, whom he described as a key operative in Hezbollah’s air defense unit.

He claimed that Haqqani had recently been responsible for attempts to rebuild military infrastructure linked to the unit.

For the past few months, the Israeli regime, backed by the US, has been pushing to disarm the Hezbollah resistance group.

Israel and Lebanon reached a ceasefire in November 2024 after more than a year of attacks amid the genocidal war in Gaza. More than 4,000 people were killed, and 17,000 others were injured.

Under the ceasefire, Israeli forces were supposed to completely withdraw from southern Lebanon, but have only partially pulled out, maintaining a military presence at five outposts.
