Iran condemns Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon as war crimes

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei condemned Israel’s recent airstrikes on Lebanon, calling them violations of international law and war crimes. He urged the international community and the UN to act against Israel’s repeated ceasefire breaches.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei strongly condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon, particularly those targeting civilian areas in the south and damaging public facilities and infrastructure.

In a statement on Sunday, Baqaei described the Israeli regime’s military attacks on Lebanon and its targeting of civilian homes and infrastructure as a grave violation of the core principles of the UN Charter and a clear instance of a war crime.

Extending condolences to the families of the martyrs and expressing solidarity with the Lebanese government and people, he called on the international community to take swift and effective measures to end the Zionist regime’s impunity.

Baqaei highlighted that the Israeli regime has repeatedly violated the ceasefire over the past 15 months, stressing that the supporters and guarantors of the ceasefire bear legal and political responsibility for these ongoing breaches.

He emphasized that the United Nations, particularly the Security Council, must urgently fulfill its duties to halt the aggressions and hold the occupying regime accountable for its violations of international law.
