Israeli Drone Strike Kills One in Southern Lebanon

An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon killed one person and injured several others, with Lebanese sources identifying the victim as Sheikh Kamel Nasreddine. The attack is among ongoing Israeli violations of the 2024 ceasefire with Hezbollah.

AhlulBayt News Agency: One person was killed and several others were wounded on Friday after an Israeli drone strike hit an area near a house in the town of Sidiqin, located in the Tyre District of southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military claimed that the strike targeted a Hezbollah member, but Lebanese sources identified the individual as Sheikh Kamel Nasreddine from the nearby town of Ramadiyeh.

The incident is part of Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024, which brought an end to more than a year of fighting between Israeli forces and Hezbollah.

In a related statement, Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported documenting 2,036 Israeli violations over the last three months of 2025. The ministry urged that Israel be held accountable and comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which mandates a ceasefire and was reaffirmed in November 2024.
