AhlulBayt News Agency: An interim Friday prayer leader of Tehran condemned the European Union’s decision to blacklist the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Addressing worshippers in Tehran on Friday, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mohammad Hassan Abutorabi Fard said the decision is an illogical and provocative act and in line with obedience to the policies of the hegemons of Washington and Tel Aviv.
The consequences of this hostile move will be directly aimed at EU politicians and decision-makers, and the powerful Iran will respond to this hostile act, he stated.
The weak and self-defeating leaders of Europe should know that this action is a clear violation of international laws and the principles of national sovereignty, he said.
The IRGC, an institution born of knowledge and faith and a symbol of power against the world’s arrogant powers, is a legal and popular institution that has always been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, especially groups such as Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), for the past half century, the cleric said.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abutorabi Fard added that the unparalleled role of this power in creating security for the region is recognized by the entire world, Islamic nations, and the great nation of Iran.
He said calling the power that comes from knowledge and faith terrorist will have dangerous consequences.
Powerful Iran, with the grace of God and the support of the great nation and Islam, will respond to this hostile act, he said.
“We are proud of the green and sacred uniform of the IRGC, the brave men who demonstrated their determination and will to defend Iran and the security of each and every Iranian in various fields. The Iranian nation stands with strength alongside its green-clad, authoritative men.”
