AhlulBayt News Agency: The cabinet of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian released a statement on Friday strongly criticizing the European Union’s latest move against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
According to IRNA, in the statement, the Iranian government denounced the EU foreign ministers’ decision to place the IRGC on a blacklist, describing the measure as sensational, unconstructive, and unlawful. It argued that the action targets a key institution of Iran’s national sovereignty and a central pillar of the country’s defense structure, which it says has played — and continues to play — an important role in fighting terrorist groups and supporting regional stability.
The cabinet, chaired by President Pezeshkian, added that the EU decision demonstrates what it called the unreliability of certain international bodies in properly addressing terrorism and identifying its true perpetrators.
The statement also accused the European bloc of double standards, claiming it continues to support Israel despite allegations of state violence and occupation.
