AhlulBayt News Agency: A member of the Political Council of Iraq’s Nujaba movement described any threat to Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed li Khamenei as a declaration of war.
Firas Elyaser said although US President Donald Trump's recent remarks about Ayatollah Khamenei are mostly rhetorical, Shia Islam cannot tolerate such an aggression.
According to the Nujaba Media Office in Tehran, Elyaser responded to Trump’s statements regarding the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
He said that although Trump’s threat is mostly rhetorical, Shiism cannot tolerate such an aggression.
“Ayatollah Khamenei is one of the great Shia authorities in the world, and even the thought of attacking him could change the situation in the region and the world.
“Any aggression against the revered figure will be a major war. Trump is angry with the Leader because he has thwarted Washington’s projects for decades.”
He emphasized that the recent unrest in Iran, like the 12-day war in June 2025, has failed.
He said that in Iraq, America implemented a similar model through the “Jokers” (the Tishreen riots). “The same model was implemented in Iran; but America’s mistake is that it does not know that it is not capable of carrying out coups and color revolutions in Iran!”
Elyaser said the Shias of Iraq will not leave Iran alone in any way. “If necessary, we will fight against America side by side with the Iranians.”
He also said the Nujaba movement is monitoring American movements in Iraq.
“Their withdrawal from the Ain al-Asad airbase was just a show,” he said, adding that their presence in the bases of the Kurdistan Region has been established and the Americans have set up new bases in northern Iraq.
