According to Khabaronline, an Iranian news agency, The EU spokesperson responded to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to impose a 25% tariff on countries trading with Iran by stating that the matter is currently limited to a message on social media and will be reviewed if it becomes an executive action.
Anur Al-Anuni made these remarks on Tuesday at an EU press conference in response to a question about the President’s message.
When asked if this could include the EU, the spokesperson replied: “In the area of trade, what I can say is that as far as we understand, everything that has happened so far is merely a message on social media.”
Anur Al-Anuni added: “If that social media message were to be translated into any form of executive action, then we would review it and provide our analysis.”
He further emphasized that the EU’s current focus is solely on the implementation of the joint statement between the EU and the US by both sides.
