AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported and will continue to support Lebanon’s independence, national unity, and territorial integrity.
Araghchi made the remarks while paying tribute to Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the late Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon, on Thursday.
Calling for an end to the Israeli regime’s occupation of territories, particularly Lebanon’s lands, he said: “On behalf of the government of the Islamic Republic and all the people of Iran, I send greetings to all fighters on the path of truth, justice, and resistance, and to those who sacrificed their lives to water this sacred path and open the way to victory.”
He emphasized that the most important issue is expanding relations with Lebanon, expressing hope that bilateral ties in all fields will continue to grow.
Nasrallah was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s Dahiyeh, southern Beirut, on September 27, 2024, when more than 80 one-ton bunker-buster bombs were used.
