AhlulBayt News Agency: Kamal Kharrazi, senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, emphasized that Iran has consistently pursued dialogue, reminding U.S. President Donald Trump that peace cannot be achieved through coercion.
Speaking on Sunday at the international conference titled “International Law Under Attack: Aggression and Defense” in Tehran, Kharrazi said, “Iran does not shy away from negotiations.” However, he stressed that any talks must be free from threats or acts of aggression, adding, “We will not enter negotiations under the pressure of weapons or criminal measures.”
Kharrazi urged Trump to adopt a constructive and respectful approach. “My recommendation to President Trump is to demonstrate readiness for talks grounded in equality and mutual respect. If he takes this path, the outcome will be clear,” he noted.
He further underscored that Tehran will not abandon its peaceful uranium enrichment program, its defensive capabilities, or its national independence. Such demands, he said, are unacceptable.
Kharrazi, who also heads the Tehran-based Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, added that Iran has repeatedly shown willingness to engage in fair and mutually beneficial negotiations. “The real obstacle is Washington’s refusal to accept an equal framework. The United States seeks to impose its illegitimate objectives through economic pressure, a strategy that the Iranian people reject. Bullying will never succeed.”
