AhlulBayt News Agency: The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Tuesday that Israeli occupation forces killed 79 Palestinians and injured 289 others in the past 24 hours, as the war on Gaza enters its ninth month.
In its latest update, the ministry stated that the total number of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, has reached 56,077, with at least 131,559 others wounded.
Among the latest victims, five bodies were recovered from beneath the rubble of a previously bombed site.
Hospitals also received 49 dead and 179 wounded among those attempting to access or receive U.S.-sponsored humanitarian aid, which has increasingly become a deadly risk rather than a source of relief.
Since May 27, the death toll directly linked to Israel’s militarized and restricted aid distribution has risen to 516 killed and 3,799 injured.
Many of these casualties occurred when starving civilians were shot or shelled while trying to reach aid convoys not supervised by international organizations.
The ministry also reported that since the latest escalation began on March 18, 5,759 Palestinians have been killed and 19,807 wounded.
The humanitarian situation continues to worsen due to Israel’s repeated violations of ceasefire agreements.
The Israeli army has failed to uphold the truce that began on January 19 and has refused to implement the second phase of the agreement.
Since March 2, Israeli forces have further tightened the blockade on Gaza’s border crossings, preventing the entry of essential humanitarian supplies, including food and medicine—exacerbating famine and accelerating civilian deaths.
