AhlulBayt News Agency: Members of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement, organizers of the Annual Imam Khomeini Week, visited the leader Sheikh Sayyed Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), at his residence in Abuja on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, as part of the Imam Week program.
During his address to the group, Sheikh Zakzaky spoke about Imam Khomeini’s defiance against global arrogance and disbelief, which viewed Islam as outdated. He emphasized that Imam Khomeini revived Islamic ideology by restoring its leadership and governance.
He further stated that the Islamic Revolution set an example for oppressed people worldwide and those who seek freedom.
Sheikh Zakzaky highlighted that Almighty Allah instilled courage, fearlessness, and composure in Imam Khomeini, enabling him to confront the un-Islamic system led by the Shah, who was aligned with American interests.
He also discussed Imam Khomeini’s migration, explaining that after the Shah recognized his growing influence in Iran, he was forced into exile—first to Najaf and later to France, as Arab countries refused him asylum.
Zakzaky emphasized that Imam Khomeini transformed the perception of Islamic governance from an impossible dream to a reality. He also implemented the concept of Wilayatul Faqih (Leadership of the Jurist), asserting that the most qualified individuals to protect lives, property, and dignity are Islamic jurists and scholars.
The leader also spoke about the awaited savior of humanity, Imam Mahdi (AJ), stating that the best deed is to prepare for his reappearance.
Explaining the meaning of waiting, Zakzaky said that true readiness means ensuring that when Imam Mahdi (AJ) emerges, his supporters are fully prepared. Even before his arrival, people must strive to be ready.
In the final part of his speech, Zakzaky reflected on past and present attempts to weaken Islamic Iran, stating that all such efforts have failed. He concluded by praying for the well-being and divine guidance of the current leader of the Islamic Revolution, Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
