AhlulBayt News Agency: The Gaza Strip has experienced a devastating rise in casualties, with 94 people killed in a single day due to relentless Israeli airstrikes.
The fatalities occurred on Tuesday alone, marking a sharp increase from the previously reported death toll of around 60 announced by Palestinian media outlets.
The victims lost their lives in targeted airstrikes that hit homes, schools, and shelters, leaving widespread destruction across Gaza.
The wave of attacks started in the early hours of the morning, with 54 people killed between midnight and 4:00 AM. Among them were 13 individuals who perished in an assault on the Musa bin Nusair School in Gaza City, a location previously considered a safe haven.
At the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, another 15 people were killed in a strike on the Radi Station. Meanwhile, 13 civilians lost their lives when an airstrike struck the Abu Samra home in Deir al-Balah, another central city in the Gaza Strip.
Further airstrikes claimed the lives of nine people at the Muqayyid family home in Jabalia, north of Gaza City. Civilian areas in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, were also heavily bombed, leading to significant casualties.
Residents and civil defense teams are frantically searching for survivors among the rubble, but the situation remains dire. Observers note that Gaza’s overwhelmed medical infrastructure is unable to cope with the continuous influx of casualties caused by indiscriminate Israeli airstrikes.
Since the start of Israel’s military operations in October 2023, at least 53,573 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed across Gaza. The ongoing war has intensified the humanitarian crisis, with entire neighborhoods devastated.
Amid the worsening conditions, Gaza’s Hamas resistance movement accused Israel of refusing to engage in serious negotiations for a ceasefire.
In a statement released on Monday, Hamas said the Israeli delegation sent to Doha lacked the authority to hold genuine negotiations or finalize a ceasefire agreement. The movement further claimed that Israel’s presence in Doha was merely an attempt by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to mislead global public opinion and create a false perception of diplomatic engagement.
