AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strengthening ties with its neighboring countries, emphasizing cultural, historical, and human commonalities as the foundation for deeper cooperation.
Speaking in Tehran on Sunday during a meeting with Armen Grigoryan, the secretary of Armenia’s Security Council, Pezeshkian highlighted the close relations between Iran and Armenia, describing them as rooted in goodwill and mutual understanding. He expressed optimism that recent diplomatic exchanges between the two nations would pave the way for enhanced collaboration in various sectors.
Grigoryan’s visit to Iran coincided with the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025, a two-day event bringing together senior officials and diplomats from 53 countries, alongside representatives from the United Nations.
During the meeting, Pezeshkian welcomed efforts to de-escalate tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, reiterating Iran’s support for regional peace and stability. He stressed that Iran envisions a region free of war and unrest, where lasting security prevails. He stated that Iran has extended a hand of friendship and brotherhood to all neighboring countries and is working to strengthen and deepen ties based on shared cultural, historical, and human values.
Grigoryan conveyed warm greetings from Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and noted that Iran-Armenia relations are experiencing significant growth, with bilateral trade exceeding $1 billion. He expressed Armenia’s readiness to further expand cooperation with Iran across various sectors.
He also praised Pezeshkian’s speech at the Tehran Dialogue Forum, describing it as insightful and impactful.
