AhlulBayt News Agency: President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed hope that ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States will result in a fair agreement ensuring lasting stability in West Asia.
Speaking in Tehran on Sunday, Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who is in Iran to participate in the Tehran Dialogue Forum 2025. The two-day event has brought together senior officials, diplomats from 53 countries, and representatives of the United Nations.
The Iranian president praised the strong ties between Iran and Oman, commending Muscat’s constructive role in hosting the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington. He stressed that through the genuine efforts of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, the discussions could lead to a just agreement fostering peace and stability in the region.
Highlighting Iran’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Islamic nations, Pezeshkian emphasized that Oman holds a special place as a brotherly and friendly country with whom Tehran seeks expanded collaboration across trade, politics, economy, science, and technology. He noted that his upcoming visit to Oman would mark a turning point in enhancing bilateral relations.
Pezeshkian also underscored the importance of unity among Islamic countries, arguing that closer ties and increased cooperation would thwart efforts by adversaries seeking to create division and instability in the Islamic world. He voiced his aspiration for a West Asian region built on collaboration, prosperity, and justice.
For his part, Oman’s foreign minister conveyed warm greetings from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and praised Pezeshkian’s remarks at the Tehran Dialogue Forum. Al Busaidi highlighted Iran’s role in regional affairs and affirmed Oman’s full support for fostering constructive engagement between Islamic nations and the broader global community.
He further noted that Iran and Oman’s strong relationship is an example of sincerity, cooperation, and brotherhoodone that could serve as an inspiring model for other nations.
