Iran-Oman Relations are Increasingly Expanding: Araghchi

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the bilateral relations between Iran and Oman are increasingly expanding, adding that joint economic commission will be held soon in Tehran.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says that the bilateral relations between Iran and Oman are increasingly expanding, adding that joint economic commission will be held soon in Tehran.

Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi visited Tehran and was received by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

In the meeting on Saturday, the two foreign ministers discussed bilateral issues as well as regional and international issues.

Araghchi had said on a visit to Beirut on Friday that he did not know if Al Busaidi was carrying a message to Iran from the United States on the Tehran visit. The top Iranian diplomat had said that the visit to Tehran by his Omani counterpart was to talk on the bilateral issues.

After their meeting, Araghchi and Busaidi held a joint press conference.

The Iranian minister first welcomed once again his Omani counterpart, saying that his visit was a sign of close relations between the two countries.

He added that bilateral relations between Tehran and Muscat are expanding.

Araghchi also said that two countries' joint economic commission will be held soon in Tehran.

Busaidi, for his part, stressed that diplomacy and dialogue are the only solution to resolve crises and deescalate tensions.

He assessed the relations between the two countries as in a positive atmosphere, highlighting that "we are trying to strengthen bilateral ties in different areas."

The Omani minister also noted that he had attached great importance to Palestine issue and the creating of an independent Palestinian state in meeting with Araghchi, adding that Oman stresses creating peace and security in Yemen.
