AhlulBayt News Agency: The opposition leader of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and the parliamentary leader of the Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen GB, Mohammad Kazim Maitham, attended the Kurram Peace Conference held in Islamabad.
On this occasion, he described the closure of Kurram's roads for seven months as a security failure and demanded that the federal government give citizens the right to live, the right to freedom of speech, and the right to free movement.
He stated that the people who have been trapped in Kurram for seven months are a slap to the face of the rulers and their false claims.
He said that in the country, raising a voice for Kurram's rights had also been made a crime. When the oppressed people of Kurram raised their voices, people from all over Pakistan came out. From Skardu and Gilgit to Karachi and Quetta to Lahore, we became one voice.
However, it was disappointing that in Sindh, our leaders and scholars were attacked. Terrorism charges were imposed.
The Sindh government even said that people from Gilgit-Baltistan have no right to protest in Sindh. It was said that the issue of Parachinar was only Parachinar’s issue, whereas it was a human rights issue.
He added: We have always raised our voice for unity. We do not stand with any oppressor; we support every oppressed person, whether they are from Kurram, KPK, Quetta, or Gilgit-Baltistan. The struggle for the supremacy of justice and against oppression must continue.
