AhlulBayt News Agency - Secretary General of Imam Ali Holy Shrine Sayyed Nizar Habl al-Mateen opened the main water line project, which supplies the old city of Najaf and the holy shrine in cooperation with al-Kawthar Iranian company and Department of Water of Najaf and the rest of the service departments in the province.
The Secretary General's of Imam Ali Holy Shrine said in a statement to the media center of Imam Ali Holy Shrine "this project is one of the vital projects and Imam Ali Holy Shrine will covered it in collaboration with several parties to implement it in order to deliver the water and in sufficient quantities to the old city and the Holy Shrine.
The Secretary-General added "the old city currently suffers from the scarcity of water, especially in summer and millions and events that taking place in Imam Ali Holy Shrine and the period of implemnting the project is two months.
Head of Engineering Maintenance Department in Imam Ali Holy Shrine Engineer Ehsan Haider Hashem said "Imam Ali Holy Shrine mobilized a large number of vehicles for the transportation of pipes provided by the Water Department in the province, indicating that the tube diameter is 1000 mm". He added that the cost of completing the project is three hundred million dinars. He pointed out that the project length is four kilometers. The line will provide the old city with 4 million liter/ hour. Al- Kawthar Iranian Company is implementing the project in cooperation with a number of service departments in the province.
