(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Iran has mounted an exhibition of Qur'anic artworks, introducing traditional Persian handicrafts in the national university of the Republic of Dagestan.
Qur'an in The Mirror of Iranian Art kicked off during a ceremony attended by a number of Iranian officials as well as scholars and officials from Russia and Dagestan.
The exhibition displays illuminations, and mosaic, etching and marquetry works inspired by the Muslim holy book of Qur'an.
Held by the Dagestan University, Dagestan's Ministry of Nations, Religious and Foreign Affairs, and Iran's cultural attaché in Dagestan, the event opened on October 16 and will run until October 22, 2011, Mehr News Agency reported.
Iran had also held an exhibition of Qur'anic manuscripts in Dagestan's city of Makhachkala in 2010.
