Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), Iraq -- The Diala Emergency Police Department forces seized an explosive belt and charges east of Baaquba city on Friday, the department chief said.
“Forces from the 7th Contingent of the Emergency Police Department in Diala conducted an operation that targeted a key stronghold of al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI) network in the district of al-Muqdadiya, (45 km) east of Baaquba, seizing an explosive belt and improvised explosive devices,” Col. Faris al-Omairi said Iraq News Agency.
Omairi did not give further details.
Baaquba, the capital city of Diala province, lies 57 km northeast of Baghdad.
