AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hezbollah strongly denied the allegations made by the Syrian Ministry of Interior regarding the movement's connection to a group that allegedly planned to assassinate a religious figure in Damascus.
Following the accusation by the Syrian government that Hezbollah had equipped a terrorist group to target a Jewish rabbi near his home in Damascus, Hezbollah issued a statement yesterday.
The statement reads, “Hezbollah denies the allegations of the Syrian Ministry of Interior regarding its connection to a group for the assassination of a religious figure, and once again reaffirms its declared position that it has no activities, connections, or relations with any party in Syria.”
The statement added, “Hezbollah also emphasizes that it is sensitive to the security and stability of Syria and the safety of its people, and calls upon the relevant authorities in the Syrian government to investigate before making baseless accusations, especially at a time when intelligence services are attempting to inflame tensions between Lebanon and Syria.”
