NY Times: The Consequences of America's War with Iran Are Piling Economic Pressure onto Europe's Tensions

The New York Times, in a report, analyzed the consequences of America's war and Iran's defense.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Russia, Europe's longtime oil supplier, has been provoking Europe through sabotage, drone flights, and cyberattacks following its invasion of Ukraine.

China, a friendly rival and the EU's second-largest trading partner in goods, has saturated the bloc's markets with cheap goods, weakening the industries of Germany, France, Italy, and elsewhere in Europe.

China has also halted or restricted exports of critical minerals, disrupting Europe's supply chains. And America, Europe's closest friend, has repeatedly threatened to separate. Trump initiated a trade war.

Now, the U.S. and Israeli war with Iran has added further to Europe's growing list of economic woes.

Natural gas prices in Europe are 60 percent higher than when the war began on February 28. The UK and Italy have been particularly affected due to their heavy reliance on gas in their energy mix.

In Germany, Europe's largest economy, inflation has spiked, and forecasters say it will continue to rise for at least the next few months.
