Tanzania Int’l Quran Competition Gets Under Way in Dar es Salaam

The 34th edition of the Tanzania Prize International Quran Competition begin in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.

ABNA24 - The 34th edition of the Tanzania Prize International Quran Competition begin in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.

Organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Tanzania, the competition is supported and supervised by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Al-Madinah News reported.

It has been organized with the participation of 26 countries from around the world and will continue until Saturday.

The purpose of this competition is to encourage memorization of the Quran and mastery of its recitation, to discover and cultivate Quranic talents at the international level, as well as to strengthen the noble Islamic values ​​and establish a moderate and moderate approach, according to the organizers.

The contenders compete in the category of memorization of the entire Quran and in two age groups: adult memorizers and young memorizers.

The closing ceremony and awarding of the top winners of is scheduled to be held on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

The evaluation of the participants in these competitions is based on precise criteria including the quality of memorization, observance of rules of Tajweed, and good performance and accuracy in Waqf and Ibtida, in compliance with the approved standards and electronic recording of scores until the final confirmation of the results with complete transparency.

This process is carried out through an electronic judging system that ensures fairness and accuracy in the evaluation.

The participants in these competitions are from different continents and countries including Egypt, Brazil, Bangladesh, Comoros, Kenya, Uganda, India, Canada, Mauritania, United Kingdom, Australia, United States, South Africa, Germany, Russia, France, Libya, Turkey, Nigeria, Syria, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Zanzibar and Tanzania.
