Pakistan Senate Opposition Leader Praises Iran’s Leader in First Address

The newly appointed leader of the opposition in Pakistan’s Senate has begun his first official speech by praising the personality and leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, emphasizing his central role in guiding the Islamic Revolution and standing firm against domineering powers.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The newly appointed leader of the opposition in Pakistan’s Senate has begun his first official speech by praising the personality and leadership of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, emphasizing his central role in guiding the Islamic Revolution and standing firm against domineering powers.

According to reports, Senator Raja Nasir Abbas, head of the Muslim Unity Council of Pakistan, delivered his maiden address on the Senate floor after his election as opposition leader by commending Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s leadership and steadfastness in confronting hegemonic forces.

In his remarks, Jafari described the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as a key figure in the contemporary Islamic world, highlighting his resistance to external pressure and global domination. He said such leadership has played a decisive role in safeguarding the dignity and independence of Muslim nations.

The Pakistani senator further stated that Ayatollah Khamenei descends from the family of the Prophet of Islam, noting that the legacy of Fatimah, Ali ibn Abi Talib, and Imam Hossein (peace be upon them) is reflected in his character and leadership. Drawing a historical parallel, Senator Jafari said that just as Imam Hossein never abandoned the battlefield in the face of tyranny, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran will never retreat from confronting what he described as the “pharaohs of the modern era.”

He stressed that Ayatollah Khamenei’s resistance to arrogant powers should not be seen solely as a defense of Iran or the wider Muslim community, but also as an indirect defense of Pakistan. According to Abbas, Iran’s firm stance against foreign threats serves as a strong barrier against external aggression, contributing to regional stability and acting as a protective shield for neighboring countries, including Pakistan.

The speech marked Senator Raja Nasir Abbas’s first formal political position after assuming leadership of the opposition in the Senate and quickly drew widespread attention across Pakistan’s political and media circles.

Pakistan’s Senate, the upper house of parliament, plays a key role in shaping national legislation and political discourse. The appointment of the opposition leader is considered strategically significant, particularly amid regional tensions and shifting geopolitical alignments in West and South Asia. Iran and Pakistan share deep historical, cultural, and religious ties, and statements by senior Pakistani lawmakers regarding Iran’s leadership are closely watched both domestically and internationally, especially in the context of regional resistance to foreign intervention and pressure.
