AhlulBayt News Agency: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has strongly condemned Israel’s latest military actions in Lebanon, describing them as “terrorist attacks” and a violation of international law.
Speaking on Monday, Baqaei responded to Israeli strikes conducted late Sunday on several locations in southern Lebanon, including Bourj Rahal and al-Zarariyah near Sidon. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the attacks injured ten people, including a child. The strikes represent a renewed breach of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, which came into effect in late November last year.
According to IRNA, Baqaei stated that the repeated violations of the ceasefire and the ongoing assaults on Lebanese territory constitute a clear infringement of the country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, violating core principles of international law.
He accused the Israeli regime of deliberately undermining Lebanon’s public security and economic stability, noting that the attacks occurred during the peak summer tourism season and at a time when the Lebanese government is pursuing economic revival through tourism.
The spokesperson also criticized the silence of the international community, including the United Nations and Western guarantors of the ceasefire, in the face of Israel’s continued aggression. He warned that the expansionist policies of the Israeli regime pose serious threats to the security and stability of the entire region.
