Israel struggles to recover from missile damage after 12-day war

An Israeli media outlet revealed post-war failures in housing, infrastructure, and defense, citing extensive damage from Iranian missile strikes during the 12-day conflict. Reconstruction may take years, with over 38,000 compensation claims filed. Officials remain silent on military losses amid tight information control.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A Hebrew-language media outlet reported that the Israeli regime has proven itself incapable of defending its internal front or managing post-conflict reconstruction in the aftermath of Iranian missile strikes.

The Israeli daily Israel Hayom wrote that hundreds of residential apartments in Israel (Occupied Palestine) have been neglected by state institutions, and the latest war confirmed the urgent need for rapid rebuilding.

According to the article, Israel's dysfunction before the war has been compounded by its inefficiency after the conflict, exacerbating the country's challenges.

The writer cited that during the 12-day conflict, at least 17 buildings were flattened in Bat Yam, 13 in Rehovot, and 8 in Ramat Gan. Several key infrastructure facilities were also destroyed.

Tzvika Brot, the mayor of Bat Yam, stated that he does not expect a quick recovery. “Iran’s missiles inflicted wide-scale destruction in the city. If we aim to rebuild swiftly, it will take 2–3 years and require the full mobilization of municipal and state institutions,” he told Israel Hayom.

The paper reported that over 2,000 Israelis have been provided temporary shelter in 90 hotels. Official figures record 29 dead and 3,400 injured. More than 38,700 compensation claims have been submitted—totaling over 7 billion shekels—excluding over 40 billion shekels spent on security operations.

The article also noted growing questions following media restrictions regarding Israeli military and security losses caused by Iranian missile attacks. Tel Aviv has reportedly enforced a strict information blackout.

The Israeli regime initiated the 12-day war with Iran on June 13, citing threats from Tehran’s nuclear program as justification.

On June 22, the United States entered the conflict directly, bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities in coordination with Israel to prevent its collapse. Iran responded by targeting the U.S. airbase al-Udeid in Qatar.
