Pakistan affirms support for Iran amid Israeli war

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed Islamabad’s full support for Iran during the conflict with Israel. He urged a sovereign Palestinian state and warned India against violating water agreements.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif reaffirmed his country’s firm support for Iran during the recent Israeli-imposed war, stating that Islamabad stood solidly by its neighbor and ally.

Speaking to an Arab media outlet, Asif emphasized Pakistan’s consistent stance alongside Iran amid escalating tensions with Israel.

He added that lasting peace in the Middle East could only be achieved through the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state. He described the Gaza situation as genocide and criticized the current Israeli leadership for ignoring global appeals.

Turning to regional issues, Asif acknowledged that tensions with India persist, and while conflict remains a possibility, Pakistan remains committed to a peaceful resolution. He stated that Islamabad does not seek war but is fully prepared to respond if needed.

He warned that any breach of the water-sharing treaty by India could rekindle hostilities between the two countries.

Commenting on military cooperation, Asif said Pakistan relies on both Chinese and Western aircraft, but China is its primary defense supplier. He called allegations of Chinese involvement in regional conflict “baseless and illogical.”
