AhlulBayt News Agency: In a major escalation likely to intensify regional unrest, the strategic Yemeni port city of Al-Hudaydah was struck by heavy Israeli bombardment early Monday.
According to Reuters, citing local sources, residents reported hearing loud explosions throughout the city following what appeared to be a series of coordinated air raids.
According to Mehr, the Yemeni Ansarullah movement confirmed the strikes in an official statement, accusing the Israeli regime of launching large-scale airstrikes specifically targeting the Al-Hudaydah port.
Israeli media outlets reported that nearly 20 heavy missiles were fired in the operation, while Channel 14 claimed that a total of 57 bombs were dropped during the assault.
Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, strongly condemned the attacks, describing them as brutal and provocative. He emphasized that Yemen’s air defense systems successfully responded to the aggression.
“Our air defenses are fully prepared and equipped to confront any Israeli aggression against our country with full strength and capability,” Saree stated.
